Some people say that Mini DV camcorders are better in quality than DVD camcorders. Is it true?

    That’s correct on some cases because when you record on DVD format you get 540 lines of definition and when you record on MiniDV tape you can get 720 or more lines . But mostly depends on what camera you have .

    That’s correct, coz MiniDV saves the picture in RAW, while DVD camcorders have to change the color information in bytes.

    MiniDv saves raw video.
    DVD Handycam converts the video directly to compressed, lossy video (DVD) files.

    Mini DV is superior for the guy like you and me. If you like to edit, then this is for you!
